Meet Our Founders
Arif is the co-founder and CEO of Leafra.ai, where he is building next-generation AI-driven products grounded in deep systems and product expertise. Prior to founding Leafra, he spent more than a decade in senior technical leadership roles at Google, Apple, and Amazon, working at the intersection of AI, media, and large-scale consumer platforms. At Google, he led initiatives that significantly improved Android’s visual and media experience for billions of users and helped launch major ecosystem features such as Ultra HDR and next-generation messaging. Earlier at Amazon, he played a key role in launching and scaling flagship products including Fire TV, Amazon Go, Alexa devices, and edge AI systems that brought machine learning closer to users while improving privacy and efficiency. With a career spanning cutting-edge startups and some of the world’s most influential technology companies, he brings a rare blend of product vision, hands-on technical leadership, and execution at scale to Leafra’s mission.

Damon is the co-founder and COO of Leafra.ai, bringing a strong track record of hands-on execution, product building, and operational leadership across technology, research, and entrepreneurship. From an early stage, Damon has demonstrated an ability to take ideas from concept to real-world impact — developing hardware-software systems for academic research, contributing to NASA-awarded engineering projects, and building platforms that scaled rapidly in live market conditions. He has led projects spanning embedded systems, data-driven experimentation, and marketplace design, including founding Housing Helper, a platform that helped thousands of students find housing and generated meaningful revenue in a short time frame. Complementing his technical and entrepreneurial work, Damon’s background as an instructor and environmental volunteer reflects a leadership style grounded in discipline, resilience, and service. At Leafra, he brings an operator’s mindset focused on turning ambitious ideas into scalable, real-world outcomes.
Bob is a technology CFO and investor with a proven track record of building and scaling high-growth companies — including SentinelOne, where he helped drive the largest IPO in cybersecurity history. With CFO stints at SnapLogic, Circulor, and Swimlane, and nearly 19 years of C-Suite leadership at NetApp and Sun Microsystems, Bob brings deep expertise in corporate finance, M&A, and go-to-market strategy across enterprise tech. Bob also actively backs and advises early-stage innovators — serving as an investor and board member at Vali Cyber and advisor to fintech startups Obol and Firmbase. His rare combination of financial rigor, startup fundraising experience, and a network built across decades at the forefront of enterprise technology makes him an invaluable partner as Leafra AI scales.
Alex Guion is an accomplished engineering leader, serial innovator, and former VP of Engineering at Orb Networks, an innovation driven startup (acquired by Qualcomm), where he guided core product and platform development. He has also held senior technology leadership roles driving successful R&D and product efforts at Amazon Lab126 — including work on key consumer platforms such as Amazon Tablets and Fire TV — and as an engineering director at Tesla, where he contributed to the development of the vehicle entertainment console and infotainment systems. With deep experience building and scaling complex engineering teams and shipping high-impact consumer products at the intersection of software, hardware, and embedded systems, Alex brings a unique blend of technical vision and execution excellence as an advisor.
François Goldfain is a seasoned technology and product leader with a distinguished career building world-class media and platform experiences at global scale. He most recently served as Director of Engineering for Android Media at Google, where he led the teams responsible for Android’s core audio and video capabilities and helped bring major product innovations such as Spatial Audio, Ultra HDR, and next-generation video experiences to the Android ecosystem through close collaboration with device manufacturers and leading app partners. Prior to Google, François spent nearly a decade at Netflix, guiding the Android and Android TV platforms to hundreds of millions of users worldwide and playing a key role in the evolution of Netflix’s mobile and living-room streaming experiences. François brings a strong blend of product vision, platform leadership, and large-scale execution experience as an advisor to teams building ambitious, user-centric technology products.
Selcuk joins Leafra.ai as an advisor, bringing nearly three decades at the frontier of applied AI. Currently a Partner Applied Scientist at Microsoft and previously Principal Applied Scientist at Amazon, he spent over a decade at eBay leading core ML and NLP organizations — most recently as Senior Director of Applied Research for Search, overseeing the Query and Content Understanding org behind eBay's Cassini search engine. His expertise spans neural ranking, machine translation, computer vision, generative AI, and large-scale ML platforms. Selcuk also brings deep founder experience, having built and run his own AI technology company in Turkey for 13 years — delivering NLP and machine translation systems to government and Fortune 500 customers, with technology later acquired by eBay. This combination of frontier ML leadership and hands-on startup execution makes him an ideal advisor as Leafra builds the next generation of ambient AI for senior care.

Most recently Senior Vice President of Care at Atria Management Company, the second-largest operator of independent and assisted living in the U.S., where she led care and wellness initiatives for portfolios serving 40,000+ residents. Before that, she held Senior Vice President and Vice President roles in Clinical Care & Services at Spectrum Retirement Communities, and served as Director of Trauma & EMS at HCA Healthcare overseeing seven trauma centers across Colorado and Kansas. Our Story

Arif & Yasemin

Shi, Damon & Jing
Arif and Damon founded Leafra.ai with a shared sense of responsibility shaped by their own families.
For Arif, the motivation was deeply personal. With aging parents and one living with Parkinson’s, he experienced how operational inefficiencies, fragmented workflows, and limited visibility placed unnecessary strain on caregivers and families alike. He saw how much could be improved if teams were better supported with timely, actionable insight.
For Damon, that responsibility came from watching his grandfather navigate the challenges of aging while striving to maintain independence. He saw how delayed responses and preventable incidents could quickly escalate, often not because of lack of care, but because systems were reactive rather than proactive.
As they examined existing approaches, Arif and Damon recognized an opportunity to rethink how technology could better support care and operations. They believed the greatest impact would come from intelligent systems that reduce risk, surface what matters, and enable faster, more confident decision-making — while preserving the privacy and dignity of the people they serve.
Together, they built Jasemin, Leafra.ai’s next-generation AI assistant focused on reducing incidents and optimizing day-to-day operations. Their goal is simple: to reduce incidents proactively and help organizations operate more safely and efficiently, so caregivers can focus on what matters most.
Leafra.ai is rooted in a mission to improve outcomes through thoughtful technology — reducing preventable incidents, strengthening operations, and supporting those who care for others with clarity and confidence.
